
Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim continued his impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign by scoring his second league goal of the season as Slovan Bratislava secured a 2-1 victory over FC Kosice in the fifth round of the Slovak Liga.Ibrahim struck in the 25th minute to double Slovans advantage after Svetozar Markovic had opened the scoring nine minutes into the game.The Ghanaian midfielder was at the heart of a goalmouth scramble following a corner kick, with Gajdos’ header creating danger inside the Kosice penalty area.Griger, Ibrahim and Wimmer all battled to force the ball over the line, but the home defence somehow managed to clear the effort off the goal line.Ibrahim then reacted quickest to the loose ball and unleashed a powerful strike that flew underneath the crossbar, giving goalkeeper Kira no chance and putting the visitors 2-0 ahead.The goal proved crucial as Kosice responded after the break and eventually pulled one back through Liche in the 57th minute. Slovan, however, held firm to claim all three points.Ibrahim was later substituted in the second half as head coach Yaya Tour made a series of changes to protect the lead.The victory moved Slovan Bratislava back to the top of the league table with 12 points from five matches and an impressive goal difference of 14:1.The goal marks Ibrahim’s second league goal of the season, underlining his growing importance to the Slovak champions as they compete on both domestic and European fronts.Slovan now turn their attention to the UEFA Champions League, with the team travelling to Celje for the second leg of their play-off tie on Wednesday.
