Police in Yeji have arrested three young men in connection with the shooting death of a young woman in Seka, a village near Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.
The main suspect, identified as Hayford Boateng, popularly known as GH Kobby, a TikToker, is alleged to have discharged a firearm that fatally struck the victim, Yaababy—believed to be his girlfriend—in the left arm and upper chest. The incident reportedly occurred at a local eatery.
According to eyewitness accounts, Yaababy was rushed to St. Martin’s Hospital in Yeji, where she later died.
Boateng claims the shooting was accidental. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
Two of Boateng’s friends, who were with him during the incident and allegedly fled the scene with him in a vehicle, have also been arrested by police. All three suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
Authorities have launched a full-scale probe to determine the exact cause of the incident and whether the shooting was truly accidental or involved other contributing factors.
