Ghanaian internationals Elisha Owusu, Gideon Mensah and Marvin Senaya have all secured French Ligue 1 survival with AJ Auxerre after a crucial final-day victory on Sunday.
Heading into the last round of fixtures, Auxerre were still facing the threat of relegation but produced an impressive 2-0 away win over Lille to guarantee their place in the French top flight next season.
Malian international Lasine Sinayoko scored in each half to hand the Blue-Whites a vital victory in one of their biggest games of the campaign.
The Ghanaian trio all played important roles throughout the season for Auxerre. Elisha Owusu made 29 appearances during the campaign, while Marvin Senaya featured 25 times and scored once.
Gideon Mensah also enjoyed a solid season, making 30 appearances and providing two assists.
Auxerre eventually finished the season in 15th position with 34 points after recording eight wins, ten draws and 16 defeats across the campaign.
The survival battle marks an important achievement for the club and its Ghanaian contingent, who will now look forward to another season in the French Ligue 1.
They will all hope to make Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup which will be held in USA, Canada and Mexico.
