(Photo by Stuart MacFarlane/Arsenal FC via Getty Images)English-born Ghanaian forward Charles Sagoe Jr has disclosed how Noni Madueke inspired his journey to Sweden for a loan spell with Kalmar FF.The 22-year-old is enjoying the best period of his senior career after an excellent run in the Allsvenskan with Kalmar FF, where he has already recorded eight assists and scored a goal in 13 matches.Sagoe Jr delivered another assist in the thrilling 2-2 draw with giants Malmo in the Swedish topflight last week.Speaking on his decision to make the move abroad, Sagoe Jr revealed that he spoke to Madueke, who shared his experience playing in the Dutch Eredivisie with PSV before returning to England.”I spoke to Noni and he said about when he went abroad to PSV and how he had a smile on his face,” Sagoe Jr told Sky Sports.”‘Go out there and just play with freedom…’ When he told me that, it gave me confidence to go outside my comfort zone and really express myself.”The England youth international also disclosed that he settled in quick due to the warm nature of the Swedish people.”When I’m out, people will just say hi to you,” he added. “Sometimes in the London culture, everyone keeps to themselves, they have their headphones on, but everyone’s really friendly in Sweden.””They’re big on their fish,” he continued as he spoke about their food. “There’s loads of traditional dishes that I can’t pronounce!”Despite being born in England, Sagoe remains eligible to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.
