Joe Aidoo believes his ability to operate in multiple midfield roles can provide Cork City with greater options after completing his move to the club.
The Ghanaian midfielder has joined the Leeside outfit on an 18-month contract from Saudi Arabian club Al-Sharq, bringing experience from several leagues across different continents.
Aidoo, who is capable of playing as both an attacking and defensive midfielder, says his versatility is one of his biggest strengths and he is ready to contribute wherever required.
I can play as an attacking or defensive midfielder. I like to get on the ball and play, but also work hard without the ball, he said.
The 26-year-olds ability to influence games in possession while also contributing defensively is expected to give Cork City manager Barry Robson additional flexibility in his midfield selections.
Aidoo has previously featured in Nepal, India, Cameroon and Ghana, experiences he believes have helped develop different aspects of his game.
Beyond his technical qualities, the midfielder is keen to bring energy and commitment to the team as Cork City pursue their targets.
I hope to make a big contribution to the club in the second half of the season, and help the team achieve their targets, he added.
