As part of Volta River Authority’s 60th anniversary, the authority has collaborated with the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC) and have distributed 1,000 copies of the AfCFTA books to 13 Senior High and Technical schools in the Eastern Region. This project aims at supporting the National and Continental Sensitization and Education of the AfCFTA through the Education System of Ghana.
The book titled “Actualizing the African Economic Vision”; is a practical handbook on the AfCFTA which is authored by the Ghana International Trade & Finance Conference – GITFiC.
The Book is authored to help in a wide sensitization and education of the AfCFTA, which is part of the AU’s agenda 2063.
The beneficiary schools includes; Adgyena Senior High Technical Schools, Anum Presby Senior High School, Akwamuman Senior High School, Boso Senior High School, Apeguso Senior High School, Krobo Girls Senior High School, Akro Senior High Technical School, Akuse Methodist Senior High Technical School, Manya Krobo Senior High School, Yilo Krobo Senior High School, Klo-Agogo Senior High School, Asesewa Senior High School, Akosombo International School.
A joint delegation including; Mr. Paul Seniagya, the Director of Finance – VRA, Madam Tandy Chothia, the Manager, Corporate Communications and Branding – VRA, Mr. Samuel Tettey Director, Ghana Education Service from Lower Manya Krobo Municipality, Mr. Gerald Ekow Woode, the Director, Research, Policy and Advocacy – GITFiC among other dignitaries, meet with 13 schools at VRA’s premises in Akuse in Eastern Region of Ghana for the distribution.
The books will be kept in the libraries of each school for rotational reading by all students. GITFiC remains steadfast in the pursuit of this endeavor as a supporting mechanism to the AfCFTA.
The book was recently endorsed by the EU Delegation to Ghana. It was dedicated to the President of the Republic of Ghana, for the efforts of government on the final realization of the AfCFTA and rallying his colleagues Head of State to sight the Headquarters of the AfCFTA in Accra, Ghana, which was duly declared as the Commercial Capital of Africa at the 4th GITFiC.
Over 3.600 copies have been sold to various industries and institutions across board.
