The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has dismissed reports circulating on social media that it has failed to pay personnel their 2025 rent allowance.
In a statement issued on Friday, August 21, 2026, the Service described the reports as “false and unfounded”, clarifying that the final tranche of the full 2025 rent allowance was paid in April 2026.
“Management wishes to state categorically that the information is false and unfounded, as the last tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was effected in April 2026,” the statement said.

On the 2026 rent allowance, the GNFS said a committee had been constituted to facilitate the mechanisation process and ensure payments are made soon.
The Service thanked personnel for their patience and assured them of management’s commitment to addressing their welfare concerns, including compensation.
The GNFS also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and an open-door policy in communicating with personnel and the public, while urging everyone to disregard the report and refrain from circulating what it described as misinformation.
