Ghanaian gospel musician and pastor, Akesse Brempong, has announced the passing of his beloved mother, Deaconess Georgina Benchie.
The award-winning songwriter shared the heartbreaking news with his followers on social media on June 7, 2026.
In an emotional post, Akesse revealed that his mother passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, surrounded by her loved ones. The family also appealed to friends, fans, and well-wishers to remember them in prayer as they navigate this difficult period.
Accompanying the announcement were touching photographs of the gospel artiste with his late mother, as well as a portrait of Deaconess Georgina Benchie.
Expressing his grief, Akesse Brempong paid tribute to the woman who played a significant role in his life, describing her as his “intercessor” and “counselor.”
