The race for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League Golden Boot has taken another dramatic twist following an exciting round of match-day 33 fixtures over the weekend.

With just one round of matches remaining, the battle for the top scorer award remains wide open as several forwards continue to push for the prestigious individual honour.

Augustine Okrah has now climbed to the top of the scorers chart after netting a brace in Bechem United’s impressive 3-1 victory over Asante Kotoko at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

The experienced forward now leads the chart with 15 goals and heads into the final round as the current favourite to finish as the league’s top scorer.

However, the race remains far from over with Richmond Opoku of Young Apostles and Samuel Attah Kumi of Bibiani GoldStars both closely behind on 13 goals.

Richmond Opoku failed to score during Young Apostles’ 3-1 defeat to Aduana FC, while Samuel Attah Kumi managed to find the net despite GoldStars’ 3-1 away loss to Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf. His strike ensured he remained level with Opoku heading into the final weekend.

Another player making a strong late push is Suraj Seidu of Dreams FC. The forward delivered a man-of-the-match performance with a brace against GoldStars to move into fourth place with 12 goals.

His outstanding display saw him leapfrog Salim Adams of Medeama SC, who now sits fifth on the chart with 11 goals despite helping Medeama secure the league title.

With only one game left to end the season, the Golden Boot race promises a thrilling finale. Augustine Okrah currently holds the advantage, but with just two goals separating the top four scorers, the final round could still produce another dramatic change at the summit.
