Medeama SC took a giant step toward the Premier League title with an impressive 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars FC, inspired by a sensational brace from Salim Adams.

Playing at the formidable Tarkwa TnA Stadium, Medeama extended their impressive unbeaten home record against the Bibiani-based side, with Adams proving the difference in the high-stakes encounter between the league’s top two sides, who went into the game with just two points difference.

The in-form midfielder struck from the penalty spot before curling home a superb free-kick, sealing all three points and extending Medeama’s lead at the summit to five points with just four matches remaining. 

Medeama expertly managed the game after the break, maintaining their defensive discipline to shut out a determined Gold Stars side and secure all three points in front of their home supporters.

Medeama now sits at the top with 56; a win that places them firmly in control of the title race with just four matches remaining. Gold Stars, who trail on 51 points, will need a strong response in the coming fixtures to keep the pressure on and push the race down to the wire

Elsewhere, Accra Hearts of Oak secured a vital 0-1 away win over Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

Mawuli Wayo’s early 11th-minute strike proved decisive, as Hearts delivered a disciplined performance to keep their top-three ambitions firmly alive while piling pressure on Nations in the relegation battle.

Asante Kotoko SC suffered a heavy defeat at the Tuba Astroturf, losing 2-0 to Dreams FC. A 12th-minute strike by Oumar Nauffal and a second-half goal from Ebenezer Adade secured the points, as Kotoko’s struggles on the road continued.

At the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Karela United FC left it late to snatch a dramatic 2-1 victory over Young Apostles FC. A goals from Abdulai Hafiz and a stoppage-time winner by Rahman Yaya cancelled out Richmond Opoku’s equaliser, handing Karela a crucial boost while deepening Apostles’ survival worries.

Aduana FC and Heart of Lions FC played out a hard-fought goalless draw at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Sunday. The stalemate sees Aduana slip out of the top four, while Lions remain in mid-table heading into the final four games.

FC Samartex 1996 strengthened their top-four push with a 3-1 victory over Holy Stars FC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. Early strikes from Akwasi Sarpong and Francis Gyetuah set the tone before Christian Agyenim Boateng sealed the win, extending Samartex’s winning streak to three matches.
