Celebrated Rapper/Hip-Hop artiste Maradona Yeboah Adjei better known as Guru has garnered the support of students with disabilities at the University of Ghana in his campaign for the presidency of the Students Representative Council (SRC).
The CEO of NKZ Music is currently studying Political Science and Information Studies at Ghana’s premier university.
Guru, whose breakthrough in the music scene was in 2011 after releasing his hit song ‘Lapaz Toyota,’ declared his intention to contest for president of the University of Ghana’s Student
Representative Council (SRC) elections for the 2024/2025 academic year.
During a campaign meeting with the physically challenged students, Guru pledged to prioritize the needs and rights of students with disabilities on campus.
His campaign focuses on promoting an inclusive environment where all students, regardless of ability, feel supported and empowered to thrive academically and socially.
According to him, he will help establish Legon Television, procure more buses for the university, and enhance the school’s recreational centres if he is elected president of the SRC.
The most memorable moment of the meeting was when he honoured the students by sharing food with them. He also donated an unspecified amount of money to some of the students.
