GWR Sing-A-thon: Adina visits Akwaaba Village to support Afua Asantewaa

Celebrated Ghanaian songstress Adina Thembi has visited the Akwaaba Village to show her love and support to Afua Asantewaa as she embarks on her journey to hoist the flag of Ghana with her attempt to break and set a new Sing-a-thon record.

The record is held by Indian Sunil Waghmare, who earned the milestone after singing for 105 hours from March 3 to March 7, 2012.

In a nearly five-day event that started exactly at midnight on Sunday, December 24 and is expected to end on December 27, 2023, she began with OSIBISA’s ‘WOYAYA’ and followed with two gospel songs.

Adina who currently has one of the biggest hit songs for 2023 joins Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Nana Ama Mcbrown, Fella Makafui, and John Dumelo as some of the biggest stars who have visited Afua.

The Vice-President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also paid a courtesy visit.

At the time the ‘Party’ singer who was clad in beautiful African apparel visited Afua, she had done Two days, Seven hours and 40 minutes at the time the story was written, equivalent to forty-eight (48 hours).

She joined Afua as she sang ‘Faakye’– a monster hit song composed by legendary gospel singer Mark Anim Yirenkye
