Ghanaian singer and songwriter Gyakie has revealed that the artwork for her single “Sankofa” represents the core message of her upcoming album, ‘After Midnight,’ set to drop in June 2025.

In an exclusive interview on The Chat with Ekow Koomson on Channel One TV, Gyakie explained that the symbolic artwork ties directly into the album’s themes of self-reflection, rediscovery, and growth.

“The Sankofa artwork is a definition of my After Midnight album,” she said, referencing the iconic Ghanaian symbol that encourages looking back to move forward.

Gyakie also shared insight into her creative process, revealing that most of her inspiration for the project came during the quiet hours of the night.

“I get more inspiration at midnight,” she noted, hinting at the introspective and soulful direction of the album.

With anticipation building, After Midnight promises to be one of Gyakie’s most personal and culturally resonant projects to date, blending her signature Afro-fusion sound with deeper storytelling and emotional honesty.
