Ghanaian influencer and musician Hajia4Real, also known as Mona Faiz Montrage, has confirmed that she was fitted with a GPS tracking device on her ankle while facing charges related to wire fraud, money laundering, and receipt of stolen money.
In a statement read by Kofi Adoma Nwawanni on Kofi TV, Hajia4Real said that she was allowed to go out from 6am to 6pm while she was in the UK because she had the GPS tracker on her ankle, which allowed the authorities to monitor her movements.
She said that she wore the tracker for 6 months in London and that the authorities realized she was not a bad person because she did not try to escape. Hajia4Real’s arrest in the UK took place in October 2022.
At the time, it was reported that she was wearing a GPS leg tracker. However, her management and PR team denied these allegations. With her recent confirmation, the truth has now come to light.
Hajia4Real was extradited from the United Kingdom to the United States of America in May 2023 to face the charges brought against her. The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) unsealed a six-count federal indictment against her on May 14, 2023.
Hajia4Real, whose real name is Mona Montrage, has gained significant attention as an influencer on various social media platforms. Her indictment case has drawn even more scrutiny due to her popularity and online following.
