A 23-year-old student, Nhyira Papa Kojo Egyir Hayford, has been arrested by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Ghana Police Service for allegedly publishing obscene material on social media.
According to police, the suspect allegedly shared intimate videos involving multiple women on his public Snapchat account. The videos are reported to have been recorded between 2023 and January 2026.
In a police report issued on Friday, February 27, 2026, authorities said the suspect was apprehended after officers conducting routine cyber patrol discovered intimate videos circulating online that involved him.
During investigations, Hayford reportedly admitted to posting the content as part of a social media trend.
Police further indicated that the suspect also confessed to selling one of the videos to a woman in the United States for $600.
The Ghana Police Service says investigations into the case are ongoing as authorities work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the publication and distribution of the videos.
The police have also reiterated the importance of responsible use of social media and warned the public against sharing or publishing explicit content online, as such actions may violate the law.
