Hayford Boahen was the difference for FC Ashdod as the Ghanaian midfielder scored in their 3-2 away win over Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona in the Israeli Ligat haAl relegation round.Boahen came off the bench in the 63rd minute and made an instant impact, restoring Ashdods lead just one minute after the restart of his spell on the pitch.The move was finished beautifully after a fast break, with Eugene Ansah supplying the assist for the goal that made it 2-1 to Ashdod.Nehoray Dabush had given Ashdod the first-half lead before Kiryat Shmona levelled through Jwan Al Halabi, but Boahens strike swung the momentum back in Ashdods favour.Avishay Cohen later added a third for the visitors before Adrin Ugarriza scored a late consolation for the hosts.Boahen also hit the post late in the game, showing how lively he was after coming on.The goal takes his 2025/26 Ligat haAl record to nine appearances, one goal, and zero assists.
