Ghanaian rapper and singer, Fameye, has opened up about the unexpected fallout in his once-close relationship with dancehall star Shatta Wale, saying their once-strong creative bond has now faded into silence.
In an exclusive interview with Joy Prime’s George Quaye, Fameye reflected on how things have changed between the two artistes. According to him, they previously shared a genuine friendship, often communicating and even making plans to work on music together.
However, that connection appears to have faded without any clear explanation. Fameye disclosed that Shatta Wale has become unresponsive to his attempts to reach out, particularly regarding a collaboration he has been hoping to secure.
“One person I really need his verse on my song is Shatta Wale, but it seems he’s upset with me. We were very good friends, and we used to talk a lot on WhatsApp. We shared voice notes etc, were even planning to have records together. I don’t know what happened, but all of a sudden, he doesn’t respond to my texts, ” he said.
The “Very Soon” hitmaker suggested that he might have unknowingly offended Shatta Wale at some point, although he insists there was no intentional wrongdoing on his part. He emphasized that he is usually mindful of his actions and avoids anything that could lead to lasting issues, which makes the current tension even harder for him to understand.
Despite the apparent distance, Fameye was careful to speak respectfully about his colleague, highlighting the positive experiences they once shared.
“I like him so much as a person and colleague… it’s nice working with him and I like the vibe we used to have,” he added.
Still hopeful, Fameye expressed a strong desire to mend the relationship, noting that he remains open to reconnecting and eventually returning to the studio together. For him, the situation is not beyond repair it’s simply a misunderstanding he hopes can be resolved with time and communication.
