The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ministry of Health, Mr. Tony Goodman, has announced that the Minister, together with other state officials, is currently locked in a crucial meeting with the leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) and other key stakeholders to resolve the ongoing strike.
Speaking in an interview with the media, Mr. Goodman explained that the meeting with the striking body aligns with what the Minister has been advocating for in recent days to address the concerns raised by the GRNMA leadership.
“This crucial meeting, being held today, is aimed at bringing both parties back to the table for dialogue. Thankfully, the leaders of the association have agreed to the plea and are present,” he added.
The MoH PRO further stated, “We hope that by the time we finish this meeting, there will be a fruitful resolution for them to call off the strike. Their presence here is a positive signal. When we called them, they could have decided not to come, but they did, which shows they saw reason in what the Minister had proposed.”
