Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey has revealed he would be open to joining their bitter rivals Asante Kotoko if an agreement is reached between the two clubs.

The 25-year-old made the comments during an interview on Globe TV, where he insisted that football is a profession and that he is prepared to work wherever his service is needed.

“I am open to playing for Asante Kotoko once there’s an agreement between them and Hearts of Oak for me to join them. Football is my job and I am ready to work for any club,” Asibey said.

The defender enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign, making 29 appearances and scoring one goal as Hearts of Oak secured a third-place finish.

His consistent performances throughout the season earned him a place in the league’s Team of the Season selections, further cementing his reputation as one of the league’s standout defenders.

While a move between Ghana’s two biggest clubs would undoubtedly generate strong reactions from supporters, Asibey’s comments suggest he would not rule out the possibility if the opportunity presents itself in the future
