Hearts of Oak have stepped up efforts to extend the contract of defender Kelvin Osei Asibey as the club continues preparations for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians are keen to retain the versatile defender and are currently working on a new deal to keep him at the club beyond the expiry of his existing contract.
However, negotiations remain ongoing, and sources indicate that should both parties fail to reach an agreement, Osei Asibey will not be part of Hearts of Oak’s plans for the upcoming campaign.
Despite that possibility, the club’s priority remains securing the defender’s signature on a contract extension, with talks expected to continue in the coming days.
The development comes as Hearts of Oak reshape their squad ahead of the new season, with the club looking to keep hold of key players while strengthening other areas of the team.
A final decision on Osei Asibey’s future is expected once negotiations over a new contract are concluded.
