As the Citi FM/Citi TV Heritage Caravan continues its eight-day journey, the ‘Caravanites’ have now reached the enchanting landscapes of the Eastern Region, marking the second day of their immersive tour.
Having explored the Volta Region on the inaugural day, where they relished indigenous cuisines like Totokakpa and partook in a vibrant Kente Durbar, the ‘Caravanites’ are set to unravel the cultural and scenic wonders of Ghana’s diverse regions.
The day in Agotime-Kpetoe, Volta Region, was filled with the richness of a Volta Food Bazaar and the visual spectacle of a Kente Durbar. The night crescendoed with lively performances from the Nkyinkyim band.
In the Eastern Region, the ‘Caravanites’ were treated to a lunch hosted by the Eastern Regional Minister, creating a delightful interlude. The afternoon resonated with the harmonious tunes of the Legon Palmwine Band.
As the day transitions into the evening, the journey continues to the Rock City Hotel in Abetifi. A night of entertainment awaits at the Night Club, featuring energetic beats curated by ‘Experience DJ Mingle.’
Looking ahead to Tuesday, March 4, 2024, the ‘Caravanites’ are poised for their next adventure in the Bono Region. The itinerary unfolds with a visit to the Manhyia Palace Museum and other captivating sites.
The evening promises a delightful dinner complemented by a live band performance by the poolside at the Eusbett Hotel in Sunyani.
The Heritage Caravan remains a vibrant exploration of Ghana’s cultural tapestry, blending history, gastronomy, and entertainment in every region it embraces.
Participants of the 2024 edition of Ghana’s largest road expedition shared their first-day experiences, expressing eagerness and anticipation for the upcoming stops. The first day of the Heritage Caravan was characterized as an educational experience by some participants.
In their conversation with Citi News, the ‘Caravanites’ expressed their anticipation for even more enriching experiences in the days ahead.
“Sunday’s experience was very good and the timing too was very good. The fun we had at Citi TV premises even before we set off was also very good. The cultural display that we engaged in at Agotime was a learning curve for us.
The experience at Volta Serene Hotel was good. Their services were excellent, dinner was good, their services were generally excellent, and I hope to experience the same at Rock City Hotel,” Miriam Brako-Marfo said.
Dorothy Otoo also stated, “The trip was good, and I my expectations were met, and I expect more as we move further. I am just ready and expecting more fun.”
On February 26, Citi FM/Citi TV signed a partnership agreement with Nissan and Toyota to use locally assembled vehicles from these renowned automobile giants for the 2024 Heritage Caravan, scheduled from March 3 to March 10, 2024.
The Heritage Caravan 2024 is powered by Citi TV with support from 97.3 Citi FM and proudly sponsored by the National Lottery Authority, Goil PLC, Hollard Insurance, GB Foods, Omni Bsic and supported by Assembled in Ghana.
