A Ghanaian businessman, Alex Kwaku Tetteh, has sued Hopeson Adorye for Ghc 1m.
According to Tetteh, Hopeson defamed him in some comments he made during a radio interview held recently.
The Convener of Citizen Eye Ghana filed his lawsuit after comments Adorye made during an interview on Okay Fm when he allegedly said: “[Alex] drinks Akpeteshie (a local gin) and smokes ‘wee’ in addition,”, adding that in his inebriated state “he speaks total rubbish and as if he speaks from is an*s…”
Tetteh’s attorneys state in his suit: “By reason of the publication of the said words, the Plaintiff has been seriously injured in his reputation and has been brought into public scandal, disrepute, odium and contempt…”
He is seeking Ghc 1m in damages and a retraction from Mr Adorye to be published in prominent media establishments in the country.
