Veteran Ghanaian musician, Mzbel, real name Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, has revealed that despite her close ties to the Ga community, she will never employ anyone to work for her if she knows they are a Ga.
Speaking during an appearance on Showbiz A-Z to discuss how Ga-Adangbe’s can help each other, Mzbel, who grew up in Accra Central and speaks fluent Ga and is even mistaken by some to be a Ga, said she will never employ someone who is from the tribe.
Mzbel said she realizes the need for Ga’s to help each other but she won’t personally employ a Ga because those she has employed so far have turned out to be lazy.
She said whenever you employ a Ga person, they will turn up for a day or two and immediately start missing work with various excuses, claiming they have to attend a funeral or a program of some sort.
Mzbel claimed most young Ga people are not interested in working but only seek employment due to pressure from their parents therefore once they secure a job, they slack off until they’re no longer employed.
