Public figures, especially celebrities, often face intense scrutiny on social media, where criticism and trolling have become part of their daily reality.
For many, these negative comments can take a toll on their mental health, affecting their confidence and overall well-being. While some struggle to cope with the pressure, others have found ways to rise above it or even embrace it.
Ghanaian musician Pappy Kojo appears to fall into the latter group, as he has openly stated that he enjoys being trolled online. Speaking during an exclusive interview with media personality Kafui Dey, the rapper was asked how he handles social media trolls.
In response, Pappy Kojo said he actually prefers trolls to receiving no comments at all.
“I love them… yeah, I love them. Because I will prefer trolls to no comments. If I wasn’t getting trolls, whether negative or positive, I might go like ‘ei’. But if I am getting people to troll me, then I love them,” he said.
According to him, what matters most is the engagement his posts receive, regardless of whether the reactions are positive or negative. He further explained that he has developed a strong mindset and no longer allows negative comments to affect him.
The ‘Ayɛ Late’ hitmaker noted that for someone’s words to upset him, that person would have to have some level of control over him.
“I don’t let words get to me. For you to say something that will upset me, you might have had control over me. For now, nothing, I mean nothing at all, you will say will get to me,” he added.

Pappy Kojo also described himself as a “GOAT,” explaining that his journey to success reflects that status. He noted that compared to many others, his path in the music industry has been relatively smooth.
The rapper further revealed that he comes from a well-off background and identifies as a “Dbee,” meaning he did not lack basic needs while growing up. He added that he was never an underground artiste, highlighting that his first major collaboration with Joey B was already a hit.
