The New Patriotic Party in the Nabdam Constituency in the Upper East Region would not go into the 2024 parliamentary polls with their popular candidate, Mr. Boniface Gambila. This is because after filing of nominations closed in the 137 constituencies across the country where the ruling NPP has no sitting members of parliament, Mr. Boniface Gambila’s name was missing. Who is then likely to replace him?

After successfully filing his nomination forms to contest the parliamentary candidate’s slot of the NPP in Nabdam, an academician, advocate and humanitarian Mr. Paul Wooma has hinted that he is the best bet for the party who dreams to beat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in next year’s elections and occupy the seat in parliament.

“It has gotten to a point that we need to rescue this party in Nabdam. I have a good heart for humanity and I have done a lot of programmes that seek to improve the wellbeing of the people. My credibility by the grace of God is fine that’s why I offer myself as the clearest alternative to Honorable Boniface Gambila.”

The discerning humanitarian turned politician said he has gained much exposure and experience after his university education and hopes to win the 2024 parliamentary election without any controversy. Mr. Wooma said he would make use of his lobbying skills to improve the lives of the people if he should win the bid to represent the people on the ticket of the NPP in 2024.

“I have campaigned for Boniface Gambila six times during his bid to become a Member of Parliament. I have met a lot of people who have expressed interest in supporting me. I have worked with a lot of women groups who can make up forty percent of votes not akin to the NPP. Vote for me as your parliamentary candidate and let’s win the seat together.” Mr. Wooma told NPP supporters at the party office in Nangodi.

The fifty year old public-spirited developer until his recent political decision was the Talensi-Nabdam District Director of NADMO between 2006-2009; worked at the Regional Office of NADMO as the Operations Director, before he was subsequently appointed the Upper East Regional Manager of the Ghana Red Cross Society.
