Renowned Ghanaian dancer Dancegod Lloyd has unveiled a hidden chapter of his life: he once shared the football pitch with Thomas Teye Partey, the deputy captain of the Black Stars. In an exclusive interview on Channel One TV’s The Chat, Dancegod Lloyd shared that before he became a professional dancer, he was a footballer.
“I used to play football,” he disclosed. “Thomas Teye Partey and Moses Odjer were some of my teammates.”
When asked why didn’t he stick with football? Dancegod Lloyd answered, “You can’t question God. I sometimes wonder why I didn’t reach the professional level, but I believe God has a different path for me. Even now, I still question it.”
Dancegod Lloyd rose to fame after his appearance in Beyoncé’s “Already” music video featuring Shatta Wale in 2020. Now, he’s gearing up to launch a new dance school, Dance, Grow, and Live (DGL). Alongside his new team, he’s already spearheaded dance challenges for Kidi’s “Lomo Lomo” and King Promise’s “Terminator,” and performed at numerous events across Ghana.
