Former Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has broken his silence following his departure from the club, insisting he was never surprised by the decision to part ways with the Phobians.
Hearts of Oak recently dissolved their technical team despite finishing third in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League with 54 points.
Speaking in an interview quoted by GhanaSportsCentral, Dramani admitted he accepted the club’s decision calmly and understood the nature of football management at a big club like Hearts of Oak.
“I was never worried about the sacking. Never, never was I shocked. To be honest with you, I did not even sit down to brood over it as to why Hearts of Oak took that decision,” he said.
“This is because Hearts is a big club and every coach is definitely a fan of football. In this job, if you don’t add the fan aspect, you can never be interested and when you’re not interested in anything, you can never be committed to it. When you’re never committed to anything, you can never be passionate and so you will not have the drive to do things professionally.”
The experienced tactician also stated that the Hearts board acted in what they believed was the best interest of the club and described the separation as a normal occurrence in football.
“Hearts of Oak board thought about the decision to sack me thoroughly and I think it’s in the best interest of the club which is always good. It happens everywhere. Sometimes, there is always a misalignment so when such issues arise these are the best things to do,” he explained.
“The two parties need to understand each other so you can part ways amicably and that is where if you watch it well you can clearly see that the off the pitch issues are mostly misalignment and it is normal.”
Dramani further acknowledged that his time at Hearts came with both positives and challenges but insisted he leaves the club with valuable lessons and experience.
“I have learned a lot of things from that environment and I have gained strength from the environment,” he said.
“I know there were also challenges [at Hearts of Oak] but even in our homes there are challenges, lessons and strengths. The strength is that at least it’s your home so you add the lessons in order to progress further in life.”
Despite his departure, Dramani leaves Hearts of Oak with his reputation as one of Ghana’s respected tacticians still intact, and many football followers will now be eager to see where the former Black Galaxies and Right to Dream coach continues his managerial journey next.
