Former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, has announced he will run for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position again. He says no one can stop him from contesting.
This comes after he pulled out of the NPP’s “Thank You Tour”, saying his supporters are facing security threats.
During a party event in Bantama, Kumasi, a student from KNUST, who was part of a performance group hired by Agyapong’s team, was stabbed. The incident happened at the Pentecost Church and has raised safety concerns within the party.
Speaking to the media, Agyapong said the attack showed that his team is at risk, but it will not stop his plans.
“We will reorganize and continue. I am telling everyone that I will contest. Nobody can stop me,” he said.
