Goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad is already training with Asante Kotoko but is yet to put pen to paper, with negotiations now in their final stages over a potential return to the Porcupine Warriors. The 23-year-old shot-stopper has been involved in Kotoko’s pre-season preparations, but his reunion with the club has not yet been finalised. Negotiations are progressing, with Danlad expected to sign a two-year contract that includes an option for a one-year extension.Danlad, who was part of Ghana’s 2022 World Cup squad, is a product of the Kotoko youth system. He played a key role in the club’s 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title-winning campaign and later served as captain before moving abroad. His return to Kotoko would be a significant boost for the Porcupine Warriors as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping department ahead of the 2026/27 season under head coach Eric Tinkler. While Danlad has already been training with the squad, the official confirmation of his return is pending the finalisation of contract details. Both parties are expected to reach an agreement in the coming days. For Kotoko, securing Danlad’s signature would represent another important piece of business as they continue their squad rebuild ahead of the new season.
