Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama has pledged support to Emmanuel Asamoah, the Ghanaian man recently evacuated from South Africa following a widely circulated xenophobic attack video.

The support package includes GH¢200,000 in seed capital to help Asamoah restart his life and establish a business in Ghana. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mahama has also committed to setting up a cement and hardware distribution depot for him in Accra as part of efforts to ensure his long-term stability.

The announcement was made during a meeting on Tuesday involving Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Benjamin Quashie, and Emmanuel Asamoah. During the engagement, Mahama urged other Ghanaians living in South Africa to consider returning home, stressing that opportunities remained available in Ghana.
