Fast-rising Ghanaian defender Issaka Baba Seidu has joined Swedish topflight side IFK Goteborg on loan. The 20-year-old Right to Dream Academy product signed a one-year deal to join Goteborg from Danish outfit FC Nordsjaelland.Baba, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Ljungskile, impressed the handlers of the Allsvenskan side after helping the Superretan outfit gain promotion.”Our scouting team has had its eyes on him for a long time and has deepened its scouting with the opportunity to follow him closely over the past six months. Baba plays primarily as a full-back and points our competition on the wings,” said Jesper Jansson, the football director of IFK Gothenburg.”There is plenty of time to evaluate him and if we want to make the transfer permanent in the future, there are conditions for that. It feels exciting to bring Baba to us, not least considering the great interest that has existed from several other clubs.”Baba Seidu made 13 appearances in the Swedish second division last season, scoring a goal and delivering an assist.”It is a great opportunity for me to come to IFK Gteborg and the environment that exists here. I have heard a lot of good things about Blvitt and am looking forward to becoming a part of the club,” an excited Baba said.
