IGP and INTERPOL Rep in Africa confer over combating transnational crime

The Vice President of INTERPOL representing Africa, Assistant Inspector-General of Police (Rtd) Garba Baba Umar, has paid a courtesy call on the Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare at the National Police Headquarters, Accra, today Friday 16th August 2024.

The Vice President of INTERPOL, Assistant Inspector-General of Police (Rtd) Garba Baba Umar, commended the Ghana Police Service for its cooperation and support in achieving INTERPOL’s objectives and strategic operations in combating transnational crime.

He also commended the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and his management team for transforming the Ghana Police Service into a world-class institution and a reference point for Africa and beyond.

The International Criminal Police Organization – INTERPOL, commonly known as Interpol, is an international organization that facilitates worldwide police cooperation and crime control. It is the world’s largest international police organization.
