Former Deputy Chief of Staff, Alex Segbefia has accused the Akufo-Addo administration of lacking political will and desire to get Ghana out of its current economic hardship.
According to the politician, the actions and decisions of the ruling party are clear indications of a non listening government, citing his recent appointment as a premise for his argument.
In May 2023, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, appointed Dr. Yaw Twerefour as Registrar and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mortuaries and Funeral Facility Agency.
His appointment was made by Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 100(1) of the Health Institution and Facilities Act, 2011 ( Act 829).
The appointee will see to the licensing, control, and regulation of facilities involved in the storage, transportation, and disposal of human remains.
“I’m going to put in my application for Deputy”, Mr. Segbefia said while throwing his hand in the air in exasperation.
“This is something that is under the Ministry of Health or should be. If you ever wanted to do it, Is this the time?…you are adding another appointment with a new office and other essentials. I mean what really are we doing to ourselves?” he lamented.
He called on the government to stop politicizing every aspect of his governance and put in place selfless measures to rescue the country from economic hardship.
