Abdul Karim has sought to downplay any sense of tension ahead of Hearts of Oaks Ghana Premier League trip to Nations FC, insisting he will approach Sundays fixture with calm despite the emotional backdrop of facing his former club.

The midfielders comments come as the league resumes this weekend following the postponement of match week 30 games, triggered by the tragic death of Berekum Chelsea player Dominic Frimpong in an armed robbery incident.

Attention now shifts to match week 31, where Hearts of Oak travel to the Dr Kyei Stadium for a 3:00 pm GMT showdown against Nations FC.

The Phobians remain in third place on the league table with 46 points, still in pursuit of the top two, but their recent inconsistency has raised questions about their title credentials.

Karim, who is set to line up against his former side, has moved to ease speculation about added pressure on him personally, stressing that preparation within the squad has been steady and focused.

As for preparations, everything is on course, and we are getting ready to face Nations FC, Abdul Karim told Hearts TV.

Im not under pressure because we have played against them before and its my former club, so Im not under any pressure, he said.

Karim also called on supporters to rally behind the team as they aim to return to winning ways.

We [as players] have spoken to ourselves, and we have watched clips of the games as well. Ours is to win games and see what happens, and we urge the fans to come in numbers to support the team because we will make them happy.
