Ghana forward Inaki Williams marked his return from international duty by scoring for Athletic Bilbao as they defeated Cadiz on Saturday in La Liga.
After a scoreless draw at Mallorca before the international break, Bilbao were poised to bounce back with a win as they hosted Cadiz in an exciting matchday five fixture.
Despite the intensity, both teams failed to find a goal in the first half but Athletic Bilbao returned from the break more determined and their efforts paid off as Gorka Guruzeta broke the deadlock in the 66th minute.
Asier Villalibre extended the home side’s lead in the 68th minute with his first goal of the season as a result of the team’s hunger for more.
Inaki Williams later came through with the third goal, aiding Athletic Bilbao in securing a 3-0 victory over Cadiz at the Estadio San Mames. The 29-year-old capped off an exceptional performance with a well-timed goal in injury time to secure a 3-0 victory for his team recording his second league goal of the season after five appearances.
He is hoping to get more goals as Athletic Bilbao target European qualification in the ongoing season.
Williams who once again failed to impress in the recent international break for Ghana is hoping to finally transfer his remarkable show in the La Liga to his country as they anticipate several fixtures in the future including the 2026 World Cup qualifiers which kicks off in November.
