The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, has extended the curfew hours for Kpatinga and its surrounding areas in the Northern Region through the Executive Instrument.

The decision follows recommendations from the Northern Regional Security Council.

Starting from Friday, August 23, 2024, the curfew will be in effect from midnight to 4:00 a.m.

The government continues to commend the area’s Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and residents for their patience and assures them of its support in employing non-violent methods to address local challenges.

Additionally, the carrying of arms, ammunition, or offensive weapons within Kpatinga and its environs has been banned. This measure is part of the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the community. Individuals found in possession of such items will face arrest and prosecution.
