The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, has renewed curfew hours for Saboba Township and its surrounding areas in the Northern Region, effective Wednesday, September 18, 2024. The curfew will be in effect from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of the Interior, the government urged community leaders, including chiefs, elders, and youth, to exercise restraint amid ongoing challenges and to engage in non-violent efforts to promote peace in the region.

Furthermore, the specified communities have imposed a total ban on carrying arms, ammunition, or offensive weapons. It is important to note that individuals found in possession of such items will face arrest and prosecution, underscoring the seriousness of this regulation.

It is important to note that the Minister has also extended the same curfew hours for Chereponi Township and its surrounding areas in the North East Region.

This extension will also be effective from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM starting September 18, 2024, ensuring that both townships are equally informed and included in these regulations.
