Irish chef Alan Fisher has dethroned Nigerian chef Hilda Baci as the holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.
Fisher clocked in at 119 hours and 57 minutes, beating Baci’s previous record by more than 24 hours.
Fisher, who owns and operates a restaurant in Japan, also broke the record for the longest baking marathon (individual) with 47 hours and 21 minutes.
The previous record was held by Wendy Sandner (USA) for 31 hours and 16 minutes.
Hilda Baci was officially declared the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon on June 13, 2023.
She cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes, but almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.
