A Certified Counsellor and Relationship Expert, Mr. Daniel Fenyi, has waded into the discussion of sex before marriage and stated that, ideally or logically, it is not wrong for one to engage in sexual intercourse with their supposed partner before they tie the knot in holy matrimony.
The issue of whether or not it is right to have sex before marriage came up when Mr. Fenyi had a virtual discussion with members of the Ghana Universities Journal on the topic of balancing your career and relationship. Though differently opined by Reverend Regina Boakye, who was also a panelist on the discussion, that Biblically it is wrong for one to have engage in sexual activities before marriage, Mr. Fenyi argued that it is logically important to engage in sex before marriage to comprehensively know your partner’s sexual health status.
“Although it is morally and spiritually not right, it is logically important to engage in sex before marriage to comprehensively know your partner’s sexual health status”, he said.
According to him, it takes two individuals to know each other well and for partners to know who they are getting married to, it’s essential to engage in sex before marriage. However, he stressed the importance of being responsible for one’s sexual life to avoid negative effects such as sexually transmitted diseases.
He also advised that, on the path of career, one should be very emphatic on their strengths and make the best out of what people praise them or commend them for. He also advised that the youth eschew all negative advice about social media and use it to their best advantage because there are a lot of goodies to be explored from the internet.
The Ghana Universities Journal is a group of tertiary students who engage industry players, stakeholders, and the government to offer constructive criticism and solutions to impact the generation.
