American Rapper Ja Rule partnered with Pencils of Promise to rebuild a six-unit classroom block for the Nuaso Anglican Basic School, providing a safe and conducive learning environment for the students.
The morning and afternoon shift system which was been run by the school will now be a thing of the past, giving every child a fair chance at education without the concerns of overcrowding or adverse weather conditions.
Speaking about the project, Ja Rule stressed that education is about more than just textbooks and classrooms. He believes that incorporating activities like sports and the arts is crucial to shaping the future of the students.
“This isn’t just about constructing buildings; it’s about creating opportunities. Education, sports, and the arts all go hand in hand in building a brighter future,” Ja Rule explained.
Despite the excitement surrounding the project, the construction process was not without its challenges. Freeman Gobah, Country Director of Pencils of Promise, shared that the school’s topography posed difficulties for the building project. Nevertheless, the team remained committed to completing the project.
For the students, the new classroom block is more than just a physical structure, it represents hope and a fresh start. Many expressed their joy and gratitude, knowing they now have a proper space to learn and grow.
With his promise delivered right on time, the students of Nuaso Anglican Basic School now have a future free from interruptions in their learning.
And who knows—Ja Rule might just return for an encore, this time on the big stage.
