
Jamil Maraby has been officially unveiled as President of the Marketing Committee of WAFU Zone B at a ceremony held on Saturday at the WAFU B Headquarters in Abidjan, Cte dIvoire.
The unveiling underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and operational efficiency within the sub-regional football body, following the establishment of its various committees aimed at enhancing administration and development.
Marabys appointment, confirmed in December 2025, reflects WAFU Zone Bs confidence in his leadership and extensive experience in sports marketing. The decision was taken at the 18th Ordinary General Assembly of WAFU Zone B in Rabat, Morocco, as part of broader reforms to boost the commercial appeal and visibility of football activities across the zone.
The newly formed Marketing Committeethe first of its kind in WAFU Zone Bis expected to play a central role in improving the promotion, branding, and commercial value of the organisations competitions and programmes.
He will be supported by Abdoulaye Diabat of Cte dIvoire and Tiendrebeogo Jrme of Burkina Faso, who serve as committee members. The team will be responsible for developing marketing strategies, attracting sponsorships, and securing strategic partnerships to support WAFU Zone B activities.
Maraby, a respected figure in West African sports marketing, currently serves as Director of Marketing at the Ghana Football Association, where he has been instrumental in securing key sponsorship and partnership deals for Ghana football.
His leadership is expected to boost the commercial outlook of WAFU Zone B and open new avenues for revenue generation and brand development across the sub-region.
