John Dramani Mahama and Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang are set to be sworn in today as Ghana’s President and Vice President, following their victory in the December 2024 elections.
The historic ceremony will take place at Black Star Square in Accra, with thousands of Ghanaians expected to attend, alongside international dignitaries and regional leaders.
Mahama, who previously served as President from 2012 to 2017, returns to lead the country with a renewed commitment to tackling economic challenges, promoting social development, and fostering national unity.
Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will also make history as Ghana’s first female Vice President, a groundbreaking achievement widely celebrated as a major step towards greater gender representation in leadership.
The inauguration marks a significant moment in Ghana’s democratic history, as the new administration prepares to address the nation’s pressing issues and advance its development agenda.
