Black Stars goalkeeper Joseph Anang wasted no time returning to club duty after Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, producing an impressive display for St Patrick’s Athletic in the Irish Premier Division.

The 24-year-old was in goal as the Super Saints fought back to earn a 1-1 away draw against Waterford FC in their round 24 encounter on Friday, July 10.

Waterford took the lead in the 40th minute through Irish forward Conan Noonan, but Aidan Keena struck late to rescue a point for the visitors.

Despite conceding once, Anang was one of the standout performers on the pitch, making five crucial saves to keep his side in the contest. His impressive performance earned him a match rating of 8.3 on Sofascore.

The Ghanaian shot-stopper was part of the Black Stars squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup but did not make an appearance as Ghana reached the round of 32 before being eliminated by Colombia.

Anang will now hope to maintain his fine form with St Patrick’s Athletic as he continues to push for more opportunities at both club and international level.
