Juventus Next Gen manager Paulo Montero gleefully suggested Felix Afena-Gyan could move up to the first team sooner than intended.
The Ghanaian forward joined Juventus from Cremonese on loan on transfer deadline day in the summer, making his debut over the weekend.
Paulo Montero’s comments comes after Afenya-Gyan scored a stunning goal in his maiden appearance for the club in a Serie C game against Catania.
“Felix is an added value, so let’s hope it lasts a little longer and that they don’t immediately send him to the senior squad,” said Montero
Afena-Gyan has had a difficult time in Italy since bursting onto the scene in the 2021-22 season with AS Roma.
The Ghanaian has retrogressed in his development and has since not featured for the national side since 2022.
However, the move to Juventus is believed to be a move in the right direction, with Afena-Gyan expected to leverage on the opportunity to rise to prominence once more.
