Ghanaian winger Kelvin Ofori was the star of the show as Spartak Trnava secured a resounding 5-0 win over Zeleziarne Podbrezova in the Slovakian Super Liga on Saturday afternoon.

Ofori’s brace, coupled with a dominant team performance, saw Spartak Trnava extend their lead over their opponents in the head-to-head record, which now stands at 15 wins for Spartak Trnava, 5 wins for Zeleziarne Podbrezova, and 6 draws.

The match, held at the Anton Malatinsky, saw Spartak Trnava control the game with more possession and shots. Ofori, who started the game and played for 64 minutes, was instrumental in the first goal. A quick combination in the penalty area between Philip Azang, Jakub Paura, and Ofori resulted in the Ghanaian winger calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to give Spartak Trnava a 1-0 lead.

Ofori’s second goal came in the 62nd minute. Philip Azango, with a skillful run, penetrated the left side of the defense, sent a pass in front of the goalkeeper. Jakub Paur missed it there, but Ofori was on hand to send his second accurate shot into the open net, doubling Spartak Trnava’s lead.

The rout was well and truly on as Matej Grešák’s own goal in the 69th minute, Erik Daniel’s strike in the 79th minute, and Tomáš Poznar’s goal in the 88th minute sealed a comprehensive 5-0 victory for Spartak Trnava.

The Ghanaian winger has made 32 appearances in the Slovakian Super Liga this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
