Prempeh Elite Academy will play Western Region in the first semi-final of the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship on Friday, October 9, with a place in Sundays final at stake.

Prempeh Elite Academy topped Group A after collecting 13 points from five matches, establishing themselves as one of the strongest teams in the competition.

Their consistent performances and attacking quality have made them a leading contender for the title. They will now need to reproduce that form against a Western Region side that finished second in Group B behind Brong Ahafo.

The Academy team go into the knockout tie with confidence after their impressive group-stage campaign. However, the semi-final presents a different test, with Western Region aiming to overturn the standings and reach the championship decider.

Western Region progressed through the group stage and will see Fridays match as an opportunity to take their challenge for the trophy further. A victory would earn them a place in Sundays final and end Prempeh Elite Academys bid for the title.

Brong Ahafo meet Greater Accra

The other semi-final will feature Group B winners Brong Ahafo against Greater Accra at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

Brong Ahafos results in the group stage secured them first place, but Greater Accra will be seeking a surprise win to move into the final.

The two semi-final winners will meet on Sunday at the GFA Technical Centre, where the sixth edition of the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship will conclude.

All four remaining teams are now two matches away from winning the competition. The semi-finals will determine which sides have the chance to finish their campaigns with the championship trophy.

The tournament is sponsored by the KGL Foundation and forms part of the Ghana Football Associations Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

The initiative is designed to identify, develop and nurture the next generation of Ghanaian football talent. The championship gives promising U17 players the opportunity to test their technical ability and tactical awareness in a competitive environment.

It also provides valuable experience against some of the countrys most promising young footballers as they continue their development.
