The 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship reaches its crucial group-stage conclusion on Thursday, October 8, with the remaining semi-final places to be decided at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

Six matches will determine the final qualification outcome, with several teams still competing for a place in the last four and others seeking to improve their position before the knockout stage.

Prempeh Elite Academy, who have already secured a semi-final place, begin the day against Upper East Region at 8am. The other Group A fixture sees Greater Accra Region take on Northern Region.

The focus then moves to Group B at 10am, where Brong Ahafo and Western Region meet in a match that could settle the battle for top spot. Both sides have collected nine points, while Elite Academy, BIG Boss are one point behind them on eight.

That leaves all three teams in contention for qualification ahead of the final round of fixtures. Elite Academy, BIG Boss face Eastern Region in the groups other match and know a victory could take them into the semi-finals.

The afternoon programme begins at 2pm with defending champions Ashanti Region facing Upper West Region. Ashanti Region are still without a win in regulation time and will aim to finish their campaign with a positive result.

Central Region and Volta Region will complete the group-stage schedule. Their meeting will also have a bearing on the final semi-final line-up as the competition moves towards its decisive phase.

Sponsored by the KGL Foundation, the Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship is part of the Ghana Football Associations Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

The scheme is designed to identify, develop and nurture the next generation of football talent in Ghana. The tournament gives promising U17 players the opportunity to test their technical ability and tactical understanding in a competitive setting, while gaining experience against some of the countrys leading young players.

The final group matches are therefore set to determine not only which teams advance, but also the standings that will shape the semi-final stage.
