Political Studies student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Jude Michelle Korley Nortey, has been elected as the university’s 66th Students’ Representative Council (SRC) President.

Her victory makes her the second female to occupy the position after Yvonne Osei Adobea, who became KNUST’s first female SRC President in 2023.

Jude Michelle secured 56.71% of the total votes cast in the SRC presidential election, emerging ahead of her closest contender by a margin of more than 6,000 votes.

Her election marks another milestone in KNUST’s student leadership history, following Yvonne Osei Adobea’s historic election as the first female SRC President in 2023 after 71 years of the university’s existence.

Michelle who is a product of Aburi Girls Senior High School served as the Speaker of Parliament for her alma mater and also contested for the KNUST SRC presidency in 2025.

Jude Michelle is expected to lead the SRC and champion the interests of students during her tenure.
