Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has called for content creation to be treated as an essential part of Ghana footballs infrastructure, saying clubs must use media to keep supporters engaged beyond matchdays.Speaking on Thursday at the Ghana Football Associations 32nd Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Adams said clubs should produce regular content around their players, teams and supporters.Content must now be treated as part of football infrastructure. Football clubs today are also media organisations, Adams said.He said training sessions, player stories, rivalries, statistics, supporters, academies, club history and behind-the-scenes access should all be used to maintain the interest of fans throughout the week.Content creates attention. Attention creates audience. Audience creates commercial inventory. Commercial inventory attracts sponsors. Sponsorship creates resources for development, he added.Adams said the approach should not be limited to the Ghana Premier League, but should also extend to the lower levels of the game. This same thinking must extend to Division One, Division Two, Division Three and Colts football, he said.He stressed that the strength of the Premier League depends on the development of football at the lower levels. The Premier League cannot become strong on top of a weak base, Adams stated. The higher we want Ghana football to rise, the deeper and stronger its foundation must become.
