Ghana is expecting to receive about $12.5 million from FIFA before the end of September, representing funds linked to the Black Stars participation in the 2026 World Cup, Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has disclosed.The payment is expected to cover Ghanas group-stage participation and progression to the Round of 32, as well as expenditure related to the tournament.Adams said the government is awaiting FIFAs completion of its financial processes with the host countries before Ghanas exact allocation can be confirmed.He expects those issues to be resolved by the end of the month, paving the way for the release of the funds.The country is supposed to benefit from its participation in this World Cup. But as at this moment that Im speaking to you, we are yet to conclude on that and to receive those funds, Adams said.We hope that by the end of this month, FIFA will have concluded all their processes and their agreements with the host countries.He added that the final amount would become clear once the tax obligations had been settled.So we will know the tax issues and well know how much would be our portion of what is due us up to the point that we got.Under legislation passed by Parliament, Adams said the money received through the Ghana Football Association would be transferred to the Sports Fund.
